Bilbao further digitalising port rail planning
The port of Bilbao has launched a telematic service within its 'e-puertobilbao' platform, to streamline rail operations and enhance coordination among stakeholders.
The tool provides acess to daily and weekly planning and real-time tracking of all steps of the train inside the port.
The system aims to ensures traceability and enhance efficiency. Managed by Sibport, the service supports 24/7 rail operations in six maritime terminals. In 2024, 27% of container volumes at the port moved by rail, totalling 4,071 trains.
"The port of Bilbao is the leader in the Spanish port system in terms of its rail share," stated the port. (js)
