Block train links Lübeck with Milan

The Port of Lübeck is seeing an increase in cargo volumes transported by rail. LHG subsidiary European Cargo Logistics (ECL) in Germany is also contributing to this growth. The freight forwarder that focuses on intermodal transport has introduced another Italian service to the terminal in Melzo, near Milan.

Initially, ECL will offer two weekly services between the industrial centre in northern Italy and Lübeck and numerous Baltic Sea ports.

The main routes in the ECL network offer 27 departures per week and direction from and to Verona, also in northern Italy, as well as Ludwigshafen and Duisburg. The company also operates a connection between Liepaja and Riga with a Latvian partner. (ben)
