BLR breaks three records in August

Under challenging circumstances, Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR) processed 37,319 t of cargo in August, the highest ever since the airport commenced operations in 2008. International cargo continued to drive growth, accounting for 24,304 t, also the highest ever.

Exports also achieved a significant record, an all-time high throughput of 15,224 t. BLR has now a 41% market share (industry estimates) in South India.

Key factors are a conducive geographic location with easy access to manufacturing hubs in the southern states of India, adequate airline capacities to service key sectors across the globe and a modern cargo infrastructure, operated by Air India Sats and Menzies Aviation Bobba. (ah)
