Blue Water exchanges CEO

Thomas Bek (pictured centre) has been appointed CEO of the Danish transport and logistics group Blue Water Shipping, succeeding Søren Nørgaard Thomsen, who has departed after seven years on the job.

Under Thomsen’s leadership from 2018 onwards, Blue Water’s turnover nearly doubled and earnings rose, whilst staff grew to 2,700 and offices to almost 80.

The board chose Bek, a company veteran of 29 years and a former COO of Blue Water’s energy, ports and projects division, to lead the firm’s new strategy to 2030, focused on employees, customers and profitability.

Bek emphasised maintaining Blue Water’s culture, whilst aiming to drive growth amid volatile market conditions. (gy)
