Box Xpress goes for green energy
The private rail service company box Xpress, which specialises in container transport, will be even more environmentally friendly in the future. Beginning January 2021, the company will exclusively use “Tü Strom Bahn Natur,” electricity generated 100% from hydropower.
The Hamburg-based railway company with its three shareholders Eurogate Intermodal, ERS Railways and TX Logistik purchases “Tü Strom Bahn Natur” electricity from the Tuebingen public utility company in Germany.
This 100% renewable hydropower is recognised by TÜV Nord as “certified green electricity.” The container trains powered by green electricity will connect the seaports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Rotterdam with major domestic economic centres. (ben)
