British-Ethiopian chamber launched
The British Ethiopian chamber of commerce (BECC) was officially launched recently at the Ethiopian Embassy in London.
Speaking at the event, Steve Parker (pictured), director general of the British International Freight Association (Bifa), underlined the joint role of the BECC, Bifa and the Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association (Effsaa) in supporting Ethiopia’s logistics transformation.
The launch follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding in Addis Ababa between Bifa and Effsaa, which sets out cooperation on training, including a multimodal transport operator course, a UK knowledge exchange mission and support for institutional development. Both organisations will also work together on preparations for the Fiata 2027 World Congress in Ethiopia. (js)
