Brownfield turning into a hub

Prologis has plans to redevelop a 278,000 m² brownfield site in Dortmund into a fully electric urban logistics and business park.

The ‘Dortmund DC4ward’ project will add 130,000 sqm of space in seven buildings built in phases, with the first phase set to start later this year. Four buildings are for logistics and three for commercial or light industrial use.

The site, located near transport routes in Germany’s largest logistics market, will support last-mile logistics and international supply chains, as Christina Deuss, director for capital deployment in Germany at Prologis, said.

The project is aiming for DGNB Platinum certification. Key features include solar-powered, all-electric buildings, reused demolition materials, EV charging and a central green space designed to support biodiversity and staff wellbeing. (js)
