Calgary’s new transload hub to open next year

Canadian National Railways (CN), Trealmont Transport and Kaptan US have reached an agreement to develop a multimodal transload facility within CN's Calgary Logistics Park.

The new logistics facility is planned to go live in Q3/2024 and will transload containers originating and departing from the Canadian ports of Prince Rupert and Vancouver. It will transform the supply chain tied to transpacific trade by redesigning the flows to an all-rail transload model positioned inland through Calgary, CN said.

The facility will also have a direct rail connection for Western Canadian commodities to reload exports and will be equipped with a multicommodity cross dock, warehouse, container yard for storage and rail spur. (ben)
