Cargo at Guadeloupe Port Caraibes keeps flowing

In accordance with government measures and their adaptations taken by order of the prefect of the French region to deal with the coronavirus epidemic, the Grand Maritime Port of Guadeloupe has been implementing its business continuity plan (PCA) since 17 March 2020. This PCA defines the ports' operations in the specific context of the pandemic.

While passenger, cruise and inter-island transportation activities are discontinued, all of the cargo-related services are operational, thanks to the work and mobilisation of the port staff and the entire port community. A set of provisions has been implemented to ensure the safety of the operational staff at work.

Activities at the Jarry terminal both for unloading ships and delivering containers remain in full swing. Folle Anse’s facilities allow goods to be transported to Marie-Galante Island twice a week on Tuesday and Friday. Stopovers are planned for the delivery of goods at the port of Basse-Terre at the start of the week. (mw)
