Cargolux and AIT sign largest SAF deal
Cargolux and AIT Worldwide Logistics have signed their largest-ever sustainable aviation fuel (Saf) agreement, in partnership with Microsoft, to reduce emissions from server rack transports for Microsoft Cloud.
The three-year deal, covering 2025 to 2027, will save an estimated 66,000 t of CO₂e. The Saf, made from used cooking oil and tallow, is supplied by Valero and blended into Cargolux’s fuel at Houston’s IAH airport. The RSB Registry ensures transparent tracking of SAF claims.
AIT and Cargolux aim to expand sustainable logistics with partners across the industry. All parties see the collaboration as a model for future efforts to scale up alternative fuels and meet corporate climate goals. (ah)
