CCM deploys 300 new red chassis at Port Tampa Bay
Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM), one of the largest chassis pool operators in the US Southeast, has rolled out 300 newly upgraded red chassis to Port Tampa Bay. The move is part of CCM’s "Going Red" initiative to support shifting freight patterns and demand growth, especially as e-commerce and last-mile fulfilment expand across Florida.
The 40-ft SACP chassis feature anti-lock brakes, LED lighting, and radial tyres, improving reliability, safety and fuel efficiency for motor carriers. Within days, utilisation reached 72%, coinciding with the start of Maersk/Hapag-Lloyd’s IAM America Shuttle 2 service.
The deployment aims to underline CCM’s long-term commitment to Tampa as a key logistics hub and connects the port more strongly with the wider Southeastern network. Port Tampa Bay officials welcomed the investment as a contribution to safety and terminal performance. (ah)
