China – Europe freight transport back on track
With the situation in China regarding the spread of COVID-19 stabilising, and the country’s economy gradually getting back to normal, freight transport between China and Europe is beginning to run smoothly again, said the Russian United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA).
In January and February, there was even a 12% increase in the transport volumes achieved by the multimodal railway operator compared to the equivalent period of 2019.
More than 550 container trains operated by UTLC ERA have travelled on the route between Europe and China since the beginning of 2020. And since the end of February/beginning of March, the number of bookings has been on the increase again. (ben)
