Circle Group secures funding for Seamless project

Circle Group has won over EUR 312,000 in non-repayable grants for its Seamless project, aimed at enhancing port logistics via satellite data, under the Liguria ERDF regional programme 2021–2027. As the lead partner, Circle will spearhead the development of a smart platform to monitor and predict road freight traffic in ports, featuring a pilot application at La Spezia. The project, valued at approximately EUR 840,000, will integrate various data sources, including satellite and operational information from port management systems, to reduce congestion and minimise environmental impact in alignment with the European green deal.

In collaboration with partners such as Aitek and Circle Garage, the project will leverage artificial intelligence to provide predictive alerts regarding truck flows and emissions. The initiative involves a comprehensive work plan for system integration and validation, ensuring the platform can be replicated across other ports in the TEN-T network. Luca Abatello, CEO of Circle Group, emphasised that Seamless represents a significant advance in creating smarter, more sustainable ports, reinforcing their commitment to supply chain digitalisation and space-enabled logistics.
