The Memorandum of Understanding for the acquisition of 30% of Groupe Dubreuil Aéro by the CMA CGM Group has now been inked. The French airline group Dubreuil Aéro, shareholder of Air Caraïbes and French Bee, sees the CMA CGM Group enter into its shareholder base with the combination of a subscription to a capital increase for an amount of EUR 50 million and the acquisition of shares.

This operation is still subject to the approval of the competition authorities in France, French Polynesia and Austria as well as authorisation from the French ministry of economy and finances.

At the end of this procedure, CMA CGM will own 30% of the group and designate two representatives to join the Groupe Dubreuil Aéro board of directors. The potential for airline cargo activity is 14 long-haul aircrafts including eight Airbus A350s, capable of transporting between 15 and 25 t of freight each.

Since the reopening of the airport of Orly on 26 June, Air Caraïbes and French Bee have refocused their routes on overseas territories. (mw)
