Cold acquisition by Dixon International Logistics

The British temperature-controlled transport business Dixon International Logistics has acquired the Monaghan-based Irish firm Carna Transport. The latter will continue to operate independently from its locations in Monaghan and Armagh.

The takeover is part of Dixon’s ambition to extend its temperature-controlled logistics activities connecting Ireland, the EU and the UK. The deal means Dixon will generate more than EUR 70 million in annual turnover, operate a fleet of more than 300 trucks and 500 trailers, and have more than 400 staff in four offices on the British Isles.

Carna Transport was established in 1973 and specialises in moving goods to and from Ireland, the UK and across Europe. The deal marks the first acquisition by Dixon since Erisbeg, an Irish growth capital investor, bought a stake in the company in December 2021. (sh)
