Consolidating operations in the Philippines

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has announced the merger of its two Philippine subsidiaries Eco MOL and MOL Bulk Shipping Philippines into MOL Enterprise (Philippines), as part of its regional strategy for anticipated economic growth in the area.

This move aligns with MOL's "Blue Action 2035" management plan, which aims to bolster the company’s business presence in the region. Previously, Eco MOL focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions by enhancing operational efficiencies, while MOL Bulk Shipping Philippines managed dry bulk carriers.

Post-merger, MOL Enterprise (Philippines) will not only continue these operations but also explore new business and investment opportunities in logistics, real estate, and renewable energy, alongside strengthening existing shipping operations. The restructured company will serve as the core for MOL’s expansion and coordination of its group companies in the Philippines. (pb)
