Container service extended

CargoServ and Rail Cargo Group (RCG) have joined forces to launch a new combined transport link between Linz in Austria and Duisburg in Germany.

The new train runs three times a week, with one stop in Wels, where wagons with semi-trailers are either attached to trains bound for Duisburg or detached from trains going in the other direction. In Duisburg, the containers are loaded onto a new train to Rotterdam, while the semitrailers remain in Germany.

RCG has provided a brand new Vectron locomotive for the service, while CargoServ is in charge of traction in Austria from/to Passau and prepares the cargo for transport in the container terminal in Linz. (ben)
