Cool chain close to Stockholm
The Swedish grocer ICA Sweden is building an automated fulfilment centre 100 km from Stockholm to be completed by 2026. Once opened, the new facility is intended to significantly speed up the company’s deliveries to the retailers.
A 30 m high frozen pallet warehouse will be both replenished and serviced via a shuttle system. In order to pick the store orders, the required goods will be retrieved, sequenced and then assembled fully or semi-automatically at palletising stations into store-specific roll containers. The deep-freeze environment will be adjusted to -25° Celsius. (sh)
