Coolport II is on the move

Kloosterboer will break ground on 13 July, starting to building a freezer high-rise building with a storage capacity of 60,000 pallet spaces at the City Terminal Rotterdam. The building is expected to be completed in January 2022.

The construction starts two years after the opening of Kloosterboer Cool Port I, a fruit terminal with a combination of cooling and freezing capacity. Now, the new 40 m high building will be built with 2,700 solar modules installed on the roof.

The existing system at Cool Port I consists of 11,000 solar modules. The first customer is Lamb Weston / Meijer, a major manufacturer of frozen potato products. With a throughput of over 19 million t per year, Rotterdam is one of the largest agricultural food ports in Europe. (mw)
