CPKC wins service award – again

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has won the 'Asian Freight and Logistics Award' for best rail logistics services provider for the fifth consecutive year.

The accolade, organised by 'Asia Cargo News' and voted on by more than 15,000 readers and subscribers, was presented at an event in Hong Kong. CPKC managing director Corey Heinz said the award honours its strengthened shipping links between Asia and Mexico, with direct access to its North American network through the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas.

The railway also highlighted recent infrastructure improvements, including a USD 100 million upgrade to the Patrick J. Ottensmeyer international railway bridge crossing the Rio Grande river between Mexico and the USA. The bridge now features two tracks, doubling freight capacity at North America’s busiest rail border crossing. Enhancements include 4,500 ft of new tracks and security upgrades, including an x-ray inspection system and surveillance cameras. (js)
