Daily shuttle between Immingham and Doncaster
It is the first intermodal service from the UK Port of Immingham to the iPort Rail in Doncaster: The newly launched Humber Express train runs in both directions twice a day and has a capacity for 80 containers every 24 hours. The service is designed to help ease pressures on supply chains and give businesses a greener option to move goods in and out of UK.
The containers on the service arrive at the port by ship and are loaded directly onto the train and transported by rail to Doncaster and onwards across the country. At the same time, goods from across UK can arrive in Doncaster for smooth transit to Immingham and onward. (ben)
