Damen marine wins orders

Damen marine components (Dmc) has secured contracts to deliver equipment packages for 14 multi-purpose vessels under construction in India. Eight vessels of 6,300 dwt are being built by Udupi Cochin shipyard for a Scandinavian owner, marking the first collaboration between Dmc and the yard, part of Cochin shipyard Ltd. A further six vessels are being built at Mazagon dock shipbuilders for Navi merchants.

Dmc will supply piston-type steering gear, Atlantic-type rudders and nozzles, with all equipment produced at its Jiangyin factory in China. "The project shows our capability to work worldwide, tailoring our in-house designed equipment to the client’s wishes," said Dmc sales manager Bogdan Mocanu. The company has been active in India for more than 20 years. (js)
