d’Amico sells Glenda Meryl

d’Amico International Shipping has announced the sale of its oldest vessel, the MT Glenda Meryl, a 47,200 dwt MR product tanker constructed in 2011. The company's operating subsidiary, d’Amico Tankers D.A.C. in Ireland, signed a memorandum of agreement for the vessel's sale for a total of USD 19.5 m, with delivery to occur before the end of December 2025. This transaction will provide approximately USD 14.5 m in cash after accounting for commissions and outstanding residual bank debt.

Following the sale, d’Amico International Shipping's fleet will consist of 31 double-hulled product tankers, averaging around 9.7 years in age. CEO Carlos di Mottola expressed satisfaction with the sale, highlighting that this transaction, along with previous sales of sister ships, will elevate the eco-design percentage of the fleet to 93% by year-end. This aligns with the company's strategy to maintain a modern, fuel-efficient fleet that supports both sustainability goals and profitability.
