Data to make aviation sustainable
Boeing and Etihad Airways have announced that one of the UAE's flag carrier's B787 Dreamliners will become a "Greenliner", serving as a flying laboratory for testing procedures and initiatives that could further reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Also in the Gulf region, the MRO services provider Lufthansa Technik Middle East (LTME) has expanded its production capacity and its product and capabilities portfolio.
In another move, LT and Honeywell are collaborating to help airline operators increase the availability of their aircraft and reduce costs associated with operations, flight delays and cancellations, by creating a comprehensive data analytics solution - from the data pipe, to a platform that digitises maintenance data, to realise benefits based on analytics and predictive tools.
