DB Schenker and ÖOC prolong collaboration
The German service provider DB Schenker and Austria’s Olympic Committee (ÖOC) are to prolong their alliance. The long-standing partners signed a new collaboration agreement in Vienna yesterday (9 October). The ÖOC has already relied on DB Schenker’s expertise for handling global transports for several years now. With immediate effect, DB Schenker has shouldered the role of official logistics partner of Olympic Team Austria and is responsible for conveying the entire Austria Tirol House to Sochi (Russia) for the XXII Olympic Winter Games. DB Schenker has reported that it will send 16 trailers carrying tents and equipment from Bad Rappenau (Germany) and Innsbruck (Austria) to Sochi in the near future. In addition, DB Schenker will forward a chairlift and a cable car to Russia on the overland route.
