DB Schenker Logistics optimises capacities in Belgium

DB Schenker Logistics recently began services at a new logistics centre with more than 5,000 sqm of operating space, 70 loading and unloading gates, plus 2,900 sqm of offices in Zwevegem (Belgium). The EUR 13 million new building offers the best possible infrastructure for domestic and international overland transport services. The terminal, which took a year to build on its 36,000 sqm tract of land, is equipped with cutting edge eco-friendly technology such as solar panels, sensor-monitored lighting and a grey water recycling system. Until operations began at the new facility, the around 120 DB Schenker employees worked at two sites in Waregem, about 10 km from Zwevegem. These people have now transferred to the new cross-dock terminal in Zwevegem.
