deugro delivers components for Uruguayan pulp plant
deugro, collaborating closely with dteq Transport Engineering Solutions, successfully transported critical oversized components for a pulp facility at Uruguay's Punta Pereira terminal. The cargo included units of up to 56, 140 and 150 metric t, shipped from China to Uruguay via heavylift vessel. The main challenge was the narrow, congested route from port to site, requiring meticulous planning and precise execution. dteq's detailed road survey and swept path analyses identified potential clashes with buildings and road furniture, enabling safe navigation with only minor removals like lamp posts.
Using cm-accurate manoeuvres, all components were moved without modifications or extensive route alterations, reducing costs significantly. For the largest unit, a specialised self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) replaced scarce axle line equipment, ensuring safety and compliance. deugro's hands-on coordination and exact planning allowed the safe, timely delivery of the complex cargo, avoiding costly modifications and demonstrating precision in heavy lift transportation.
