DHL: a Mid-Atlantic move

DHL recently relocated its Maryland e-commerce hub to a new site in Manassas, Virginia. The new distribution centre spans almost 13,006 sqm and is close to an international airport.

Maintaining its focus on its customer base in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic states, DHL E-Commerce will use this facility to increase its domestic B2C throughput. Thanks to two large line sorters, DHL will be able to process 28.000 parcels and packages per hour.

Located half an hour away from Washington Dulles International Airport, the hub offers good domestic and international connectivity. It also features EV charging stations and energy-smart technology.

“We anticipate that the demand for e-commerce will continue to grow, and as a result, we have expanded our US footprint, and Manassas is an important part of DHL E-Commerce’s five-year growth plan,” says Lee Spratt, CEO of DHL E-Commerce, Americas. (mk)
