DHL expands electric fleet
DHL has put its first six Mercedes-Benz "eActros 600" electric trucks into operation in western Germany as part of a partnership with vehicle rental provider hylane and manufacturer Daimler Truck. The vehicles are based at DHL’s parcel centre in Dorsten and are being used for inter-depot transport during the peak pre-Christmas period. Two additional trucks are operating from Hamburg.
DHL has expanded its original order from 30 to 42 vehicles, with the remaining units scheduled for delivery by the end of the second quarter of 2026. The trucks are supplied under a transport-as-a-service model, with costs charged per kilometre driven. DHL said the deployment supports its fleet electrification strategy and contributes to lower CO₂ emissions.
