DHL Express expects prime period
With the global boom in online trade, CEP services provider DHL Express is looking forward to record volumes for the upcoming main season at the end of the year.
This development is driven by globalisation and digitalisation, which have led online shopping and express shipping to unprecedented heights. Changes in customer demand caused by the global Covid-19 pandemic have further accelerated this trend.
DHL Express anticipates growth rates of more than 50% in its global network for the main season compared to the same period last year.
The express services provider has prepared itself for the expected rise in demand by hiring more than 10,000 more staff, by augmenting its fleet of cargo aircraft and by investing in a substantial increase of capacity. (sh)
