DHL is not Fedex

Deutsche Post DHL Group is celebrating its preliminary results for Q3/2022. A particular focus lay on the group’s ebit, which passed the threshold of EUR 2 billion over the period (Q3/2021: EUR 1.78 billion).

Thus, with its group ebit for the first nine months of 2022 amounting to around EUR 6.5 billion (9M/2021: EUR 5.765 billion), the company's ebit guidance (currently: EUR 8.0 billion +/-5%) will be revised upwards.

Unlike other integrators, the group recorded a good business development in Q3/2022. While transport volumes in the B2B business reflected a softer demand and the capacity situation in ocean and air freight markets has eased, the overall network activities in all DHL divisions maintained good utilisation levels.

The express division generated an ebit of around EUR 1 billion and global forwarding, freight recorded an ebit of around EUR 585 million. With EUR 220 million in Q3/2022, the supply chain division's ebit was also well above the EUR 142 million of Q3/2021. (sh)
