DHL tracker shows resilient trade
According to the latest 'DHL global connectedness tracker', released with New York University’s Stern School of Business, world trade continues to grow despite growing US tariffs. The study analyses over 20 million data points and shows that global trade expanded faster in the first half of 2025 than in any period since 2010, excluding the post-pandemic rebound. While US tariffs are expected to slow global growth from 3.1% to 2.5% annually through 2029, they won’t stop it.
North America faces the sharpest downgrade, while forecasts for Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa have improved. "Trade barriers are never in the world’s interest, but we should never underestimate the creativity of buyers and sellers around the world who want to do business with each other.," said John Pearson, CEO of DHL express.
