Don Kwok named director of finance at port of Long Beach
The port of Long Beach has appointed Don Kwok as its new director of finance. Kwok joined the port in 2016 and previously served as assistant finance director and as acting director from 2017 to 2019.
In his new role, he’ll oversee budget alignment, capital planning, revenue and debt management, while upholding the port’s AA+ credit rating. The port operates without taxpayer funding, relying solely on its revenues.
With nearly 30 years of experience in both public and private sector finance, Kwok brings leadership expertise from roles at International Paper and Johnson & Johnson. He holds a degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and is expected to support the port’s strategic and financial resilience amid ongoing infrastructure investment and operational demands.
