DB Schenker has joined the International Road Transport Union (IRU) as its newest corporate member. The logistics operator aims to work more closely with the wider road transport sector on a range of issues and opportunities, including decarbonisation, digitalisation and the industry’s image and ability to attract and retain workers.
Schenker joins 15 other multinational firms that have already become IRU members in the past year, from China, Europe and USA.
With more than 74,500 employees at over 2,100 locations in more than 130 countries, the transport company operates land, air and ocean transportation services. DB Schenker is celebrating its 150th company anniversary this year. (ben)
