DSV builds in duisport

DSV will build a large distribution centre on the Logport VI plot in the port of Duisburg (Germany). Previously a site used for industrial production plants, the 400,000 sqm logistics area has been developed for companies in the contract logistics segment.

DSV intends to begin operations in the summer of 2021, creating more than 300 jobs. The utilisation concept proposes a 120,000 sqm property area, on which, in a first phase, a 56,000 sqm warehouse with 76 docking gates will be built.

As a logistics area designed for trimodal traffic, Logport VI has its own container terminal to implement optimised transport solutions. “We aim to offer our customers sustainable competitive advantages on the premises of Logport and the port of Duisburg. More than 100 companies have settled in this area over the past few years. These numbers testify to the success of our logistics concept,” says Erich Staake, CEO of the port operator duisport. (mw)
