Duisport and Singapore JV invest in China

Multimodal Investments (MIPL) is the name of the new Singapore-based joint venture company that was jointly established by PSA Northeast Asia Supply Chain, a subsidiary of PSA International, and multimodal Duisburger Hafen AG (Duisport). The JV will invest in multimodal logistics facilities in Asia to improve connectivity and trade flows between Europe and Asia.

Through MIPL, Duisport will participate in PSA's current investments in multimodal logistics facilities in China, i.e., Sino Singapore Chongqing DC Multimodal Logistics (SSCDC) in Chongqing and the China United International Rail Co. (CUIRC) rail terminal network.

Chongqing is a key multimodal logistics hub in western China, with access to transport services along the international land sea trade corridor and the China-Euro trade corridor.

Sino Singapore Chongqing DC Multimodal Logistics is a key joint venture under the Chongqing connectivity initiative - Singapore's third government project with China. It is developing a 330,000 sqm multimodal distribution centre linked to the Yuzui Rail Terminal in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area.

CUIRC has a network of 13 rail terminals in China, with the newest terminal located in Qinzhou, a hub for multimodal services between railways and waterways along the international land sea trade corridor. (cd)
