The Dutch company Strukton Rail has received an order from the Swedish transport administration, Trafikverket, for the maintenance of 680 km of track in the northern section of the so-called Södra stambanan (southern main line). This is the key rail link between Stockholm and Malmö and the main connection from the north of Sweden to the rest of Europe. The five-year contract, with the option of a two-year extension, starts on 1 May 2014. The value of the contract is EUR 80 million. (ben)
