E-trucks for Swiss retail chain

In Switzerland, Migros launched an online supermarket with home deliveries in September 2018, as a pilot project in cooperation with the city of Berne. The offer was so successful that myMigros has meanwhile been gradually extended to cover the catchment areas of Thun, Solothurn, Aarau and Spreitenbach.

At the start of the project, the home deliveries were carried out by e-cargo bikes. Since June, myMigros has been deploying 15 electric Renault trucks for this task. It plans to increase the fleet by a further ten vehicles this November and add around 20 more electric trucks of the Renault Trucks Master Z.E. brand in 2021.

The electric trucks are in service from 10.00 h to 14.00 h and 16.00 h – 20.00 h. In between, they are refuelled at fast-fuelling stations at their base. (ben)
