Electrifying Australia's parcel deliveries

In October, Australia Post will become the first local customer to integrate the electric light-duty truck into its daily operations. The organisation has the largest electric fleet in Australia, with over 3,000 electric delivery vehicles.

The 20 ordered eCanters are expected to contribute to Australia Post’s target of reducing overall emissions by 15% by 2025 from 2019 levels. They will run in major cities to support parcel deliveries.

The vehicles are shipped from Tramagal, Portugal, and come with the same standard specifications as the models currently available in Japan and Europe. The eCanter, a brand of Japan-based Mitsubish-Fuso (Daimler) provides a range of about 100 km per charge. (ben)
