Enormous demand in Munich - not only for space

Group 7 is opening a new logistics centre near Munich Airport, Germany, about twice as large as its previous multi-user facility which is also located at the airport.

When the new hub comes on stream, the logistics service provider will have a total of 360,000 sqm of logistics space in the country. The sites are distributed among the locations in Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Bremen, Nuremberg, Hanover, Düsseldorf, and Neuss near Düsseldorf. At all locations, Group 7 employees also organise shipments by air freight, sea freight and overland transport.

The total investment for the new 60,000 sqm service centre and the 5,000 sqm administration building will be EUR 48 million. On an office camplus, green areas, recreation rooms, lounges and a networking space will invite people to exchange ideas and work creatively in addition to modern offices.

The planned expansion is expected to create around 210 new jobs for the region. The demand in Munich is enormous, not only for space, but also for additional services such as assembling, CEO Günther Jocher told the ITJ. (ben)
