Esporg highlights EU parking gap

The European Secure Parking Organisation (Esporg) has presented the findings of its 2025 EU study on 'Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas' (SSTPAs) at EU meetings in Brussels.

Speaking before the European Parliament's Tran committee, the sectoral social dialogue committee for road transport and the land transport security committee, Esporg highlighted a shortfall of 390,000 truck parking spaces in the EU.

The study recommends certified SSTPAs, a harmonised EU digital platform and stronger policy support for driver wellbeing. Esporg also promoted its “Drive safe, park safe, work safe, live well” campaign, "aimed at improving the physical and mental health of drivers and highlighting its direct link to road safety" as Druselia Betea, head of the European well-being initiative, stated.
