EVA Air prefers maindeck capacity

EVA Air, an affiliate of the Evergreen Group, has revised its Boeing order backlog in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on future passenger and cargo demand.

The privately held Taiwanese carrier which originally ordered eighteen B787-10 and two B777-300ER six years ago, recently formalised a contract with the US manufacturer, wherein seven of its fifteen outstanding B787-10 have been converted to three B777-200F and four B787-9. EVA Air currently operates five B777F and five B787-10, four B787-9, thirty-four B777-300ER, nine A330-300 and three A330-200.

Between January and July 2020, its PAX numbers (-70%) and revenue (-63%) went down heavily, while cargo volumes (361,000 t), performance (2,012 billion FTK) and revenue (USD 847 million, nearly doubling the PAX revenue) increased 3.6%, 4.9% and 76% respectively. (ah)
