Expanded handling at DFW and PDX
WFS and Cathay Cargo have signed new long-term cargo handling contracts for Portland (PDX) and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), expanding their partnership in the US.
WFS began operations in Portland on 18 March and in Dallas on 15 April, offering full cargo handling services. This builds on existing collaborations in Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, and ground handling at New York (JFK). The expansion supports Cathay Pacific’s launch of four weekly passenger flights between Hong Kong and Dallas from 24 April, enhancing cargo capacity and efficiency.
Tom Owen of Cathay said the partnership combines WFS’s terminal in Portland and warehouse in Dallas with Cathay’s network and innovation focus. WFS’s Michael Simpson added that their teams are prepared to meet Cathay’s performance standards and time-critical handling needs. The new deals reinforce WFS’s position in key North American cargo markets. (ah)
