Fashion and furniture shift to rail

CFL Multimodal and Klog Logistics have launched a new direct train service along the 2,000 km long route between Sète in France and Poznan in Poland.

Along this rail corridor, which is one of the longest in Europe, the two companies ship furniture for Ikea to supply the Spanish market via Sète and clothing for Inditex with its fashion brands Zara, Bershka and Massimo Dutti to Poznan, where the fashion house has a warehouse for the central Europe market.

As main traction provider, CFL Freight covers the journey from the Via Sète terminal to Poznan, while Captrain Polska takes over traction within Poland. 38 trailers are taken off the road with each train. The service offers one roundtrip per week. (ben)
