                        Fast BTK corridor
RZD Logistics and Turkish logistics operator Pasifik Eurasia Logistics have dispatched the first consignment of a container train from Turkey to Russia along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars rail corridor (BTK).
A train pulling 15 forty-foot containers departed recently from Marshandiz station in the Turkish capital Ankara, heading for Akhalkalaki border station in Georgia.
The containers were transhipped there from 1,435 mm gauge platforms to the broader 1,520 mm gauge platforms and then proceeded along the BTK, crossing Georgia and Azerbaijan before arriving at their destination, Vorsino in Russia’s Kaluga region. The BTK route shortens transit times and reduces transport costs. (ben)
