Fast Lines launches Damen CF 3850 freighters
Fast Lines Belgium has launched two of three ordered Damen 'Combi Freighter 3850' vessels at the Damen Yichang Shipyard in China. These are the first newbuilds to enter the family-owned shortsea logistics provider’s fleet.
The fuel-efficient ships include upgrades such as harbour generators, oversized shore power connectors, and enhanced crane access. Damen’s "Triton" IoT system will enable real-time performance monitoring. Chair Catrien Scheers praised Damen’s series-built design and long-term perspective. The vessels will be named "Fast Olivia", "Fast Anna Sofia" and "Fast Gilles", continuing the company’s tradition of naming ships after family members. (ah)
