Fedex: ambitious plans in the Philippines

The US-American company Fedex is investing around USD 30 million into its new main facility in the Philippines in Clark. Clark is a redevelopment of a former US airbase located in the Pampanga province, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines, lying on the northern shore of Manila Bay.

The 17,000 sqm warehouse is expected to open its doors in April 2021. It offers sorting capabilities of up to 9,000 documents and parcels per hour. The facility will also have dedicated areas to process heavyweight freight.

Once operational, this investment will bring the total number of team members to more than 800 in Clark alone.

In 2017, Fedex already invested in two facilities with a combined worth of USD 2.15 million. The Philippine IT Centre in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig is the third regional software development centre for APAC solutions enhancement in the region. (sh)
