FedEx to fly first ATR 72-600 with LCD
Acia Aero Leasing has signed a definitive agreement to sell the first-ever ATR 72-600 passenger-to-freighter conversion aircraft to FedEx. The aircraft (MSN1239), featuring a Large Cargo Door (LCD), is scheduled for delivery by December 2025. Acia launched the -600 LCD conversion programme in 2024, with sister company IPRC, based in Zug (Switzerland) managing the modification work.
The aircraft will also incorporate M7 rear flip door design rights, recently acquired by IPRC, offering enhanced cargo handling and volume efficiency. FedEx, the world’s largest ATR freighter operator, will benefit from tailored technical enhancements that optimise the feeder fleet’s performance and cost-effectiveness.
