Fewer journeys and more efficiency

Transport operators Alexander and Toni Hotz from Offenbach, Germany, recently took delivery of their second long truck. The freight forwarder Toni Hotz Transporte has been deploying one long truck of the Giga Liner series over the last few years and has been positively impressed by its performance.

“Since we transport mainly cardboard products, which are very light, we can carry 56% more cargo with the long truck per journey without exceeding the 40 t limit,” said Alexander Hotz. The forwarders added that, by reducing the number of journeys while simultaneously increasing the amount of cargo, the company could cut back carbon emissions by at least 20%. Overall, the Giga Liner travels about 2,500 km per week. (ben)
