Fiege enters UK logistics market
German logistics provider Fiege has expanded into the UK with the opening of a new 24,000 sqm multi-user centre in Hams Hall, near Birmingham. The facility will initially handle e-commerce fulfilment for an existing customer, with plans to serve additional clients and create up to 750 jobs.
"This step strengthens our European network and supports the growth of one of our major e-commerce partners," said co-CEO Jens Fiege. The other co-CEO, his cousin Felix Fiege, added: "The UK launch closes a key gap in our European presence and marks a milestone in our growth story."
Fiege now operates in 15 countries with more than 4.6 million sqm of logistics space worldwide. (ah)
